Property listings leaped up in Redbridge in January

Recent data from the Property Supply Index by online estate agent House Simple showed that the number of property listings in January 2017 jumped to pre-Christmas levels. They examined the number of properties being listed in 100 major areas, including every London Borough. They found that every town and city across the UK saw a rise in properties listed in this period. An incredible 21.7% of them saw increases of 100% or more in comparison to December. Regenerating Canning Town in Newham

Canning Town in the London Borough of Newham is the focus of a huge £3.7 billion regeneration. This is a sign of the wave of investment and development heading eastward from the centre of the city. As part of the project two new town centres are being created in the area, one on each side of the A13. In total around 10,000 new homes will be created too. Continue reading

Collier’s Wood in Merton has many attractions

Collier’s Wood is a fantastic, mostly residential area in the London Borough of Merton. It was previously woodland but was cleared in the 19th century, allowing development. The area is still very green though, particularly with Wandle Park, Wandle Meadow Nature Park, and Collier’s Wood Recreational Ground. The green spaces are highly appreciated amongst residents, particularly dog walkers. Continue reading

New licensing requirements for landlords in Lewisham were introduced in February

On 11th February the Borough of Lewisham announced it was to go ahead with new Additional licensing for landlords. For the next five years owners of HMOs above commercial properties in the area will have to have an additional license when they meet certain obligations. Those that do not have the license could face fines and other penalties. Continue reading

Kingston Upon Thames has some investment properties comparable to central London

Kingston Upon Thames has proven to be a very safe bet if you are looking for investment properties. The area has a fantastic reputation, viewed in the same way that central London is but with more space. This view has been earned because the Borough is such a fantastic retail destination. House prices in Kensington and Chelsea grew more than any Borough per day

Recent data from estate agents Savills reveals a really interesting fact about London house prices. According to their figures the average price of a home has increased by £105 per day for the last five years (December 2011 to December 2016). This growth has occurred despite all kinds of shocks including currency fluctuations, political moves, and the introduction of new taxes and regulations. Continue reading
