Colliers Wood is an attractive residential area in Merton

Colliers Wood in the London Borough of Merton has a long history as the home of all manner of industrial and commercial activity. In its heyday the River Wandle had over 100 mills lining its banks. The waterway was attractive because of the fast flow and the energy it could provide. In Colliers Wood it resulted in the creation of an art and textiles hub.
