Barratt London released an interesting new report in June that takes a closer look at how first time buyers in the capital perceive property prices. They surveyed 2,000 Londoners looking to buy their first home within the next five years and asked them to guess the prices of properties in 12 different Boroughs armed with only a small amount of information. A huge new build to rent scheme for Southwark
In the middle of June it was revealed that Grosvenor Group, the property group owned by the Duke of Westminster, was planning their first build to rent project in London. They will create 1,500 rental homes in 11 blocks on a 12 acre site in Bermondsey, Southwark. These homes will be aimed at low and middle income renters, made available at discounts on market rates. Newham led the way with new property listings in May
The latest data from online estate agent HouseSimple shows that the number of new property listings rose in May after a fall in April. UK wide the volume of homes listed for sale last month was up 7%. This is a good recovery from the 4% decline in April. Continue reading
