New hotspots for first time buyers in Greenwich

The new east to west links being created by Crossrail are driving regeneration and building projects in a number of destinations along the riverside. A number of these are set to become hotspots for first time buyers and investors alike. Two of the most notable ones are based in Greenwich; Abbey Wood and Woolwich. Both will receive new stations as part of the work.

In Abbey Wood one of the most eye-catching projects is Abbey Place. The new residential tower will be 29 storeys tall and create 208 apartments. It is located close to the new station, offering fantastic transport links and access to local amenities. As part of the project a new public square with shops and a hotel will also be created.

Woolwich has had the title of an “up and coming” area for over a decade but the arrival of Crossrail has signalled even more growth. With the Elizabeth Line locals will be able to reach Canary Wharf in just 8 minutes.

Royal Arsenal Riverside is set to be one of the hottest locations in Woolwich. The former munitions factory is home to a very high concentration of attractive listed buildings. Many of these Grade I and Grade II have been converted for residential use, creating homes for thousands of residents. The area is home to shops, bars, and restaurants and will also become the location of the new station and a £31 million cultural centre.

Greenwich is definitely an area first time buyers and investors should be looking at. There are some fantastic opportunities on offer and prices are expected to continue to rise as Crossrail nears completion and reaches full operation.
