Two exciting milestones for Hillingdon

Last month Hillingdon Council was celebrating two fantastic milestones for projects in the borough. We want to have a closer look here to see how they are improving this part of West London. Then, if you have properties and need to arrange property management in Hillingdon, guaranteed rent, and more, you can speak to us.

Haydon Drive

Property management HillingdonThe first milestone was breaking ground on a redevelopment at Haydon Drive in Northwood Hills. The project is replacing 16 small studio bungalows. They were deemed no longer fit for purpose, therefore the decision was made to demolish and replace them. Plans got approval in September 2025.

Notably, this project will create 21 new family size homes. There will be 6 three bedroom and 15 four bedroom homes. Three homes will be fully adaptable for wheelchairs, with flexible interiors to cater for specific needs. Demand is highest for this kind of property in the borough, so it is great news for locals. Hillingdon Council has said all properties will go to established residents from the borough.

The aim is for the project to finish in 2028. As a result, new prospective residents may not have to wait long. Deputy Council Leader Jonathan Bianco and colleague Steve Tuckwell, Cabinet Member for Planning, Housing and Growth in Hillingdon, were both at the groundbreaking event. Councillor Tuckwell was full of praise for the project getting underway, saying it will “revitalise the neighbourhood”. Talk to us about property management in Hillingdon and more.

Meadow High School

The second exciting milestone was a topping out ceremony for a satellite school on Northwood Road. This second phase is progressing rapidly, with the event marking completion of the roof structure. The project is expanding Meadow High School, so it will create 90 more SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities) places in the borough.

This project is creating a new school on land that was previously a vacant residential block. The redevelopment will deliver 10 brand new classrooms, specialist spaces for art, food technology, and science, a library, physiotherapy and fitness space, hygiene rooms, medical facilities, kitchen/dining space, and much more.

The goal is for the new school to be ready for the start of the academic year in 2026. Councillor Bianco and colleague Susan O’Brien, Cabinet Member for Children, Families and Education, were at the topping out event. Councillor O’Brien said they were “delighted” with progress and also committed to giving pupils “a high quality and fully inclusive education”.
