The regeneration of Brent

Brent is possibly the most diverse borough in London, and is currently undergoing extensive regeneration to improve the lives of the people that live and work in the area. The growth area around Wembley has fantastic potential with the Mayor of London believing it could accommodate 11,500 new homes and bring over 10,000 new employment opportunities.

In 2010 Brent Council published its regeneration strategy for the next twenty years, setting out exactly what it hoped to achieve for the area by 2030. The plan is extensive and includes three priority areas:

Strategic Priority One – deliver transformative change all across the Borough in areas such as Wembley, South Kilburn, North Circular Road and Burnt Oak.

Strategic Priority Two – increase employment and the income levels of residents, thereby reducing unemployment, social exclusion and bringing sustained growth for the future.

Strategic Priority Three – maximise investment in Brent and meet regeneration priorities.

Progress is being made in all three areas, including £30 million of investment in housing, a new state of the art Civic Centre and the development of Wembley Park. Schools across the area are also being refurbished with multi-million pound investments in Copland School, Alperton School, the Village School and Short Break Centre and Stonebridge Primary School. Plans are to rebuild the Crest Academies too.

The regeneration strategy is helping to transform the borough and make it more attractive to all kinds of investors. It is hoped the end result will be more people looking at investment properties in Brent, which in turn would see more of them being redeveloped and put back on to the market. The investment by the government will also improve the number of available properties in the area so people can get on the property ladder.

At Finefair we strive to help people looking for investment properties here or in any other area of the capital. Our local knowledge can help you to search for prospects that tick all the right boxes, whether you’re searching for a property you can turn around quickly and get back on the market or a larger project.
