London’s newest developments

The demand for housing is reaching a critical level, particularly in London. The new Conservative Government will have a tough challenge on their hands to meet building demands and get the amount of properties built that are needed. There are currently said to be over 50,000 new homes at various stages of construction in the city. Some of these will become available this summer whereas others will follow in the spring of 2016. With the General Election over, it is a good time to take a look at the market and see where buyers can find the best deals.

First time buyers

The St. Clement’s redevelopment in Mile End could be attractive to people looking to take their first steps on the property ladder. The project will see 252 homes created on the site, with a mixture of apartments in refurbished listed Victorian buildings and new builds. Some of the properties will be available for shared ownership. 23 of them will also be priced according to the average median wage as part of the Community Land Trust.

Families

Clapham Old Town is a popular location for families and offers many attractions for residents. The Listello Buildings development is a new build scheme in the area offering 58 apartments. Families could find a great home here.

Cyclists’ paradise

London is becoming more of a cyclist-friendly city every day, and new work on a cycling superhighway stretching from King’s Cross to Elephant and Castle is set to speed up this transformation even more. If you want to take advantage of this when it is finished, The Chroma Buildings could be perfect for you. The two low rise apartment blocks have 40 boutique flats on offer.

The top of the market

Wimbledon is famous for tennis, but is also one of the favoured addresses outside of Central London. The area is charming and has a beautiful common and village centre, but developments in the area are rare. This makes the Wimbledon Hill Park project extra special. The development will see 110 homes on 19 acres of grounds featuring a mix of traditional conversions and brand new modern builds. Also on site are luxurious facilities such as a residents club, a gym and concierge service.
