Funding has been allocated to UK Housing Zones

It has been announced that £6.3 million of government funding is being provided to councils around the country to revive brownfield areas across the UK. The funds will be spent on construction and technical support in 19 brand new designated Housing Zones. The aim of these zones is to give councils a place where they can work in partnership with private developers, delivering new homes on previously unused land. A further eight UK zones are planned for future development.

These developments illustrate the fact that demand for homes remains high across the whole of the UK. The Housing Zones will provide 34,000 new homes to be sold to people who wish to own their own home. However, many people are unable or unwilling to buy a home and are in search of rental properties instead, particularly in London.

Landlords and property investors can help to alleviate the pressure by offering their properties for council leasing. This can be an excellent way to bring in a steady income from your property investment while also ensuring councils have safe, high quality properties to house members of the community. As an added advantage, you will have your property professionally managed by the authority in charge, which will save you time and give you the reassurance that your valuable investment is in very good hands.
