Although there is still a risk to the venue, MOTH Club is celebrating Hackney Council’s decision to deny planning permission for one application. It’s been called a “sensible decision”.

The Night Time Industries Association (NTIA) was one of the MOTH Club’s biggest supporters. They work to create a vibrant sector, supporting venues and other businesses. CEO Michael Kill said the decision to deny planning permission was “incredibly welcome news”. Additionally, he said it is a great example of “people power in action”.

The risk remains though because a second planning application is still awaiting a decision. While thanking supporters for the backing so far, MOTH Club said they want to continue spreading the word and fighting to protect the venue.
