Hanworth ticks many of the right boxes

London is one of the most unique cities in the world because it has such a diverse array of different areas. In fact, you’d be wrong thinking it is just one giant homogeneous city. It is actually a collection of 33 different districts, with hundreds of towns and villages in total. As a result, you can find an area to suit any kind of lifestyle. One we want to look at today is Hanworth. It’s an interesting option if you’re thinking about property investment in Hounslow.

What are you looking for?

Property investment HounslowHounslow is a really impressive part of East London. It’s largely suburban, but has some busy centres with plenty of amenities. It also stands out because it’s more affordable than neighbours like Richmond.

If you’re looking for a lively area with good transport links, Feltham is a good choice. If you don’t mind higher prices and want even more amenities, Hounslow itself is fantastic. However, if you’re thinking affordability (and good demand for rentals) Hanworth is a top choice. It’s family friendly, with some good schools (be aware of the catchment areas). Plus, it has a reputation for safety, although there are some areas where you should be cautious.

History

One of the things that make Hanworth such a great place to live is the rich history. There’s some interesting, and quite alarming details. They can add a surprising amount of value to an area, making this a noteworthy spot for property investment in Hounslow.

Firstly, it was originally a manor and parish. One of the earlier occupants, Sir Nicholas Brembre, was a supporter of King Richard II, but was accused of treason and hung in 1387.

Later, Hanworth was gifted to Anne Boleyn by Henry VIII for life. Sadly, as we famously know, she was also accused of treason and beheaded. It was a happier home for Henry’s final wife, Queen Katherine Parr.

Today

As we said above, today Hanworth is a great choice for families. It has an impressive community feel. There are good primary and secondary schools. Even better, the green space is fantastic. Hanworth Park is a highlight, offering space for sports, a playground, and woods. It is also the home of the former manor Hanworth Park House. While the property has a wealth of history, it is sadly derelict at the moment (although there are plans to save it).

There are plenty of decent amenities in Hanworth too, including supermarkets, shops, restaurants, coffee shops, and pubs. Many of them contribute to the vibrant community spirit. While there isn’t a station in the area, commuters can easily use local bus services to travel to Feltham and go from there. There’s many more amenities here too.
